Labrys
An events brand and magazine to help lesbians learn and build community.
For: Thesis, George Brown College
Scope: Brand system and zine collection.
Labrys aims to empower lesbians to build community by creating sapphic centred spaces and making lesbian theory, history, and culture more approachable. Academic visual norms are often intimidating and formal, and sapphic design can lean on soft “feminine” stereotypes, which is disconnected from queer history that often involves DIY/punk activism. With a vibrant colour palette, bold typography, and symbolism-packed graphic suite, Labrys helps create space for all sides of the lesbian experience.
